About New Asha Sri Lanka Restaurant
New Asha Sri Lanka Restaurant is an indian restaurant in Staten Island, New York. It is listed at 322 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10301, which places it among the local businesses of Staten Island that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Staten Island is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Staten Island follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Need to give 6 stars! Read about the Sri Lanka food on Staten Island, so loaded the fam, hopped the ferry, and bam! Amazing food, incredible home feeling service, and fair pricing. Again, super great place and advise all to try.

The best South Asian meal Iβve had in NYC! And SUPER friendly, speedy service! I told them to make the mutton curry as spicy π₯΅ as possible, and this meal will be living on my tastebuds for days to come. And the dhal is ALL! I was tempted to go buy an entire container to take home. Most people donβt equate Staten Island with flavor, but this little strip of Victory Boulevard is changing that, with New Asha leading the charge. And when you come, make sure you go to the top of the hill (Victory Blvd) and take in the greatest view in all of New York City (see photo). Washed it all down with a cool glass of mango lassi π₯. Not as creamy as Iβve had other places, but refreshing all the same. This is a must stop ethnic meal for a day trip to Staten. Enjoy! π₯

We ended up stopping by and found this little gem. We spoke to the owner who was very kind and accomodating. She quickly fried us some shorteats and it was pretry good. We tried the egg fish rolls and the brought home some goodies (cutlets, veg roti and malu paan). They also have rice and curry menu too and kotthu. Didnt get a chance to try the kotthu. However we tried the rice/fish. With this you can select other vergetable dishes you like that they had made for the day. Recemmend anyone who is in the area to try this authentic srilanka restaurant. Also it was Halal. Which was a main thing for us.

Sooo good! Came here with my family, and we ordered the mutton curry, chicken curry, chicken kottu roti, as well as some of their veggie and meat rolls. Delicious!! Though some was a little too spicy for my mother, she still found everything to be very tasty. Drinks were great too (a mango lassi, and two passion fruit juices). Service was so welcoming and lovely thanks to the owner, Viji. Makes me wish I had another stomach. We left very dated and with an order of dosa :)

Had the privilege to meet Mrs. Viji and try her incredible cooking last week. I've never tried Sri Lankan food, but I have to say, the Coconut Rice and Goat Curry would be present at my last meal after dining at New Asha. My buddy and I gave her the free pass to keep bringing food out until we told her to stop. She did not disappoint. Breads, Chutneys, Curries galore. It was a wonderful culinary experience. I stopped in while traveling because I read an article Bourdain posted a number of years back and had it on my list. Mrs. Viji told me a little of what he was like, which was a surreal experience, because she was working when he came. This place should be on everyone's road map. Take the 20 minute walk from the Ferry and enjoy the meal of a lifetime.
